The 31 year old Bataan Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) was kept mothballed and transferred by Ex-President Corazon Aquino to the government after the Marcos dictatorship ended and it was never used till date.
To reduce the insufficiency of electricity in the country the government should seek other resources in-order to supply the Philippines well.
BNPP that was kept for years can still be recovered by the incoming President Rody Duterte.
Duterte said in an online query about the possible restoration of BNPP, "The growing crisis in power, especially in Mindanao, all available sources of electricity must be tapped."
BNPP that was built by the late President Ferdinand Marcos on 1976.
Duterte added that the revival of the Nuclear Power Plant in Bataan must be plan carefully to avoid the dangers of that the nuclear power plant can be made.
"It must be weighed in carefully with regards to the benefit and dangers of tapping power sources like nuclear and a stable power reserves is very important in enticing investors to the country," he stressed.
Duterte said that climate change must also be taken into context. He admitted that coal use must be reduced to the barest minimum thus the need to look into other sources of energy other than fossil fuels.
For everyone, it is always been a dream to overcome the power shortage and to give cheap electricity for all the Filipinos.
