Estrada: Arroyo did no wrong

Former President Joseph "Erap" Estrada and currently mayor of Manila said that former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo did no wrong.

Both the former presidents were detained for plunder case, Erap stayed on his house rest arrest while Arroyo in a hospital arrest.

When Arroyo was still the president Erap was pardoned by her, after he was accused and detained while Arroyo was ordered freed by the Supreme Court this year.

Erap said, “I am happy that she has been freed because it has been proven that she did nothing wrong,” and what happened to Arroyo had happened to him, he added.

“It was too much,” the mayor said.

“Our former President Corazon Aquino said sorry, the Church said sorry because of what they did to me. They did not prove anything, that I stole,” Erap said while referring to the key players in the 2nd Edsa revolution that made him replaced by Arroyo on 2001.

The mayor denied the impeachment he has been through as President before, said that “coup d’etat,” referring to Edsa II, was “illegal," he said.

“All the contracts I signed, they looked at them. All the lawyers looked at the contracts I signed, they weren’t able to prove anything, not even a contract,” Estrada stated.

“That’s just how it is. Because it has been proven that she did not do anything wrong. It’s a good thing she has been released already,” Estrada stressed.

Voting 11-4, the Supreme Court on Tuesday dismissed the plunder case filed in 2012 against the former president Arroyo. It was the alleged misuse of  P366 million of Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office funds meant for charity.

Former president Estrada faced plunder case who's allegedly received P545-million protection money from “jueteng” operators and a P189.7-million kickback from a Belle Corp, stock transaction; and the P3.23-billion “Jose Velarde” bank account.

Erap was detained in 2007 and sentenced to life imprisonment, but was pardoned by Arroyo and was realeased.

Senator Richard Gordon reacted to the Ombudsman for "poor lawyering" on Wednesday.

“Sometimes you wonder whether these cases are prepared very well, because it is the high court saying it lacks evidence,” Gordon said. “Now that she’s acquitted, where did all the years go?” he added.

Solares arrived on the headquarters at about 3:00 p.m. while he started out breaking the frames of pic published at the bulletin board. "[Solares] was cursing whilst he become throwing down the snap shots in opposition to sure personalities," District Director Joel Coronel stated. Solares reportedly fired his gun two times and chased other policemen. Solares was ultimately subdued with the aid of his colleagues. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

"I have directed the SOCO crime laboratory to conduct a drug test so most likely we'll find out the results later in the afternoon or in the evening," the deputy director said.

Solares may face administrative charges such as illegal discharge of firearm, insubordination, and gross misconduct. He may also face criminal charges of direct assault.

Amok cop who went on a rage at the MPD headquarters, he wants to kill Erap

The new chief of the Manila Police District has ordered tests done to determine whether a policeman who went on a rampage at the MPD headquarters July 03, 2016, Sunday afternoon, forcing a lockdown, was drunk or high on drugs.

The heads of the units or precincts where the suspect, Police Officer 1 Vincent Paul Bulacan Solares, were also summoned on orders of Senior Supt. Joel Coronel, the MPD chief.

A shot was heard from inside the Manila Police district headquarters on UN Avenue shortly past 3pm Sunday, and initial radio reports said two policemen had run amuck for still unclear reasons. The MPD promptly went on lockdown mode, but in just 15 minutes, officers had seized a uniformed cop identified as PO1 Solares.

All the while, a man's voice was heard shouting and a reporter on the scene said it apparently belonged to one of the policeman who had become violent.

As of 3:24 pm, police from SWAT snatched a man wearing a cop's uniform. Another man in civilian clothes wearing a brown jacket was not taken in, as it appeared he was not with the cop gone amuck, according to a live radio report.

The MPD's new district director, Senior Supt. Joel Coronel, known as the heads of various precincts in which Solares served, to ascertain his work background and character, in line with a follow-up record by way of DZBB's Manny Vargas.

Coronel additionally ordered MPD probers to conduct an exam on Solares to decide if he become under the influence of alcohol or excessive on drugs while he went wild. Solares might also have a severe personal problem; or a psychiatric hassle.
