Danao City Police Station ambush, four hours after a buy bust

A police station in Danao City, Northern Cebu was strafed by two unidentified men just four hours after the brother of a drug lord suspect Alvaro "Barok" Alvaro was neutralized during a buy bust operations. The gun men was on board a black XRM Motorcycle at around 2:25 am open fired at the police station's second floor, which sent 12 PNP personnel on the ground. 21 empty shells of 9mm gun were recovered on the crime scene according to PO3 Arnold Labene of Danao Police Station.

The personnel tried to pursue the suspects but they escaped already. No casualty was reported except for the damaged jealousies. Although the exact motive of the said incident is still under investigation, it is believed to a retaliatory in action for the killing of Megz Alvaro and Ronnie Castro were killed during a drug buy bust operation on or about 11 pm on 11 Aug 2016. To add, Alvaro's mother, Ema went to the police station after learning of her son's death and threatened the PNP personnel on duty.

She was hysterical and said she can have the policemen killed by her son which she didn't named but it was believed to be Barok Arevalo. Barok Alvaro was the go to man of Jeffrey "Jaguar" Diaz, touted as the principal drug lord in Central Visayas who was also killed in a law enforcement operations in Las Piñas City in June. He surrendered due to fear for his life and safety. It seems that his brother Megz was also peddling drugs.

Hence a buy bust was done for Megz at roadside Sitio Pulanhyuta, Barangay Looc, Danao City. Megz was quick to notice that it was a buy bust and pulled out his 9mm and open fired at the police who acted as a buyer which caused the PNP personnel to fired back at the two. A 9mm pistol with mag with 4 ammo, 15 plastic sachets believed to be containing shabu and 1000php. Meanwhile, a .45 pistol with mag and 2 ammo, 4 plastic containing shabu and 70php. They were brought to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival by the attending medical personnel.
