Police found a 180 kilograms of shabu or 'methamphetamine hydrochloride' which is P1 Billion worth was seen in a deserted farm in Claveria, Cagayan province last weekend.
Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Director General Ronald “Bato”Dela Rosa said that the discovered drugs in a farm which is known to be owned by a certain Rene Dimaya at Barangay Culao was meant to be delivered to Binondo Chinatown in Manila.
The PNP Anti-Illegal Drugs Group, Special Action Force, Bureau of Customs and PDEA together raided Dimaya’s farm.
The found shabu packs were arranged in seven black bags with printed words of "Leah D"and placed in a blue ice box.
The police chief said that out of fear the suspects might have buried the box in the farm land.
“Natakot sila. Supposed to be from the sea, mag-approach sa lupa, sasakay sa fishing boat tapos dedeliver agad sa Binondo. May consignee doon na Intsik din eh. Natakot sila, nilibing sa lupa,” he said.
However, they didn't arrest anybody in the farm.
Dela Rosa said the PNP is still in the process of finding the drug syndicate and the police will also probe Dimaya.
The shabu may have came from China or Taiwan, Dela Rosa said.
He stated “As to who the persons behind this shipment are, zero pa tayo. Wala pa. Pero ‘yung may-ari ng lupa, ang first impression, talagang sasabihin natin he has constructive positon dito kasi sa lupa niya nakuha".
Dela Rosa also added that he will list them as among the high-value targets of the police “so they would die.”
“Idadagdag natin ’yan sa listahan. Ililista para mamatay ’yang gago na ’yan,” the new PNP chief said.
In the meantime, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) chief Undersecretary Isidro Lapeña and Dela Rosa showed to media all the 180 packs of shabu at Camp Crame in Quezon City.
