Incoming Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello stressed that he will meet with business executives who are currently in Davao to tell them that the incoming administration of Duterte will not allow contractualization — specifically of employees whose services are important in the operation of the business or enterprise on Tuesday, June 21.
Bello said, “The intention of the law is to see to it that our employees are regularized – that they don’t remain to be contractual".
(Ang intensyon ng batas na ito ay para masiguro ang lahat ng ating empleyado ay ma-regular- na hindi sila manatiling "contractual".
Contractualization may be applied for “seasonal” workers like security personnel and janitors of a certain company.
"I may issue a resolution or a department order that will allow companies with thousands of employees to keep a 20 percent contractual work force," Bello added.
Para sa praktikal na rason siguro, 80-20 arrangement, lalung-lalo na kung malaki kang kumpanya (especially if you’re a big company)," he said.
Sinusuportahan ang Administrasyong Duterte ng 'Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP).
ECOP President Donald Dee said they are ready to kick off members that will not abide.
“By all means, magsara na kayo kasi naapektuhan ang imahe ng buong industriya," sabi ni Dee.
Dee said ECOP members also back the Duterte administration's 10-point economic agenda.
“We are impressed, very impressed, and we will give this administration the opportunity and the space to implement this.”
