The 42 year old designer from Davao City, owner of Chardin, Bonie Adaza made a dozen of new tailored Barong Tagalog for the incoming President Rodrigo "Digong" Duterte.
Each Barong designed by Adaza has unique embroidery design taken from the tribe's clothing patterns of Mindanao and each of it is just P6,500 where Duterte can choose from.
"What we are preparing are customized embroidery. It has a touch Mindanaons for the reason that we will showcase where we are from, and to show that we are proud Mindanaons, "Adaza said.
Adaza said that since 2009 he designs the Barong for Duterte but this is the first time he used the ethnic cultures of Mindanao in its design.
With the help of his fellow designer Chard Pulache Adaza said that it took him a day to design every Barong Tagalog for Duterte.
The incoming spokesperson of Duterte, Ernie Abella told in a press conference on Wednesday, June 22 that Duterte does want to wear any fancy and itchy clothes and including the bright colored one from the davao based designer.
They used to make a Barong Tagalog from synthetic fiber jusi while his pants was made from pure cotton for comforts of the incoming president, Adaza said.
The 6 pairs of Barong Tagalog and pants were already delivered to Duterte and the remaining 6 pairs will be rushed before the inauguration.
