Neophyte Senator Manny Pacquiao agrees death penalty done by hanging saying, "Sisipain lang po ung upuan."
The Philippines' boxing champ made his statemente during the first privilege speech in the Senate for pushing the reimposition of capital punishment over drug related case and was asked by Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III.
In the privilege speech Sotto asked Pacquiao regarding what method he preferred of executing convicted drug case.
Sotto then gave the four method which are by hanging, firing squad, electric chair and lethal injection.
The first two are cheaper, Sotto said.
Pacquaio then answered and said, “Para po sa akin ay sa ngayon ay nanaig ay hanging or firing squad."
“Dahil mura?” tanong ni Sotto.

“Sisipain lang po yung upuan,” Pacquiao answered. At naghilyawan na buong session hall. The session hall brought laughters.
“Oo nga kaya nga ho naisip ko na baka nga mura…” sabi ni Sotto, na natawa din sa sinabi ni Pacquiao.
And Pacquiao, made a joke about death by hanging and said, “Pwede po nating sabihin na natumba lang ang upuan e."
Before the interpellations has started, Pacquiao made a speech against the proliferation of illegal drugs and the need to reimpose punishment to put a stop to the problem.
Pacquiao said, “Death penalty is lawful, moral, and sanctioned government action. Having read the Bible on a regular basis, I am convinced that God is not only just a God of mercy, but also a God of justice.”
