The Duterte administration is ready for Phase Two against the war on drugs

With the dead bodies being counted, Malacañang claimed that the first phase of war on drugs was a victory. Sec Martin Andanar, Presidential Communications Secretary said that the relentless campaign of the government against drugs has paid off as this was manifested with the almost 2000 lives lost that’s barely 60 days President Duterte took seat as President.

He further added that the administration is now ready for the implementation of the second phase which is the rehabilitation of the massive 700,000 drug users who surrendered themselves to the authorities in fear of their lives.

Andanar said that the President to finish the drug problem the soonest possible time, as this was part of the Duterte’s campaing matra to end the drug problems with in his 3-6 month in office. The Duterte administration is eyeing the 70-80% target within the first 6 months.


However, the users who takes drugs on a daily basis will be more challenging to be rehabilitated, he added. But he has high hopes for those occasional users to undergo rehabilitation in government-funded institutions.
