The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lance Gokongwei of Cebu Pacific flew with Philippine Airlines (PAL) to attend a two-day consultative meeting of the country’s top businessmen in Davao hosted by the incoming the President Rodrigo Dugterte this Monday, June 20.
Cebu Pacific Air and PAL are the two top biggest airlines in the Philippines who are obviously rivals in airline business.
In a report, Gokongwei chose an economy class seat in PAL to avoid delays but still arrived in Davao later than his scheduled flight.
Instead of Cebu Pacific he flew with PAL “Because our Cebu Pacific's 3 p.m. flight gets delayed.” Gokongwei explained to a co-passenger.
The CEO of Cebu Pacific was welcomed by Cebu Pacific personnel and arrived around 6:40 in the evening in Davao City before he proceeded for a dinner at Marco Polo Hotel with Duterte.
