Milk Feeding Program- a program that is continuously serving the base market of the local dairy farmers, especially those who had just started in the business of dairying. It addresses the issues of poverty by rescuing children from malnutrition while providing a steady flow of income to local dairy farmers and their cooperatives.
The incoming Department of Agriculture Secretary Manny Piñol said he will make the milk feeding in public schools a national program.
Main aims of this program is to alleviate the malnutrition of the children and to help solve the dairy farmer's problem regarding marketing and transporting of dairy products.
Piñol said in an interview, “We will coordinate our efforts with the National Dairy Authority and Department of Education to identify schools or Barangays that have high rates of malnutrition and we’ll focus our program there. If the Carabao program could be replicated in other province successfully, then we will support it all the way”.
He also unveiled one of their incoming programs and aspirations together with the incoming President Rodrigo Duterte that they will provide identification card (ID) for dairy farmers so that their names will be incorporated in the database and be able to benefit for insurance purposes.
