Ensogo Shopping Site declared bankruptcy

Prapatpong Chanchit, legitimate Officer of the Consumer of the Shopper Protection Board's (OCPB) direct offering and direct showcasing division, yesterday said the administrators would be assembled in for a conference one week from now to clear up how the organization would help its Thai subscribers.

Ensogo's Thai unit was registered with the OCPB as an e-direct advertising business in 2014, and the organization has given around 6,000 item and administrations, including markdown coupons for more than 1,000 things.

A year ago, the organization apparently had more than 3.5 million subscribers. On its site, Ensogo said that beyond Asean and Hong Kong, it had 7.4 million subscriberss.

On Tuesday, it declared the shutdown of all business in Asean. The Commerce Ministry's Business Registration Department yesterday expelled its "DBD" check for the site upon the company’s notice of the end of on-line services. In any case, director-general, Pongpan Jiarawiriyapan, said that Ensogo did not make a move to break up the company. By law, as the on-line business was the main business goal of the company and it was ended, Ensogo must advise the branch of the organization dissolution inside 30 days.

Specialists in the e-commerce industry charge the shutdown to Ensogo's decision to transform itself from a flash-deals business into a commercial center stage. Michael Cluzel, co-founder and chief executive officer of Eatigo, said acknowledged flash-deals business had a tendency to lose cash as merchants seek profits, against the high cost and many-sided quality in keeping the deal factory going.

"Alibaba's acquisition of Lazada is the primary reason behind why [Ensogo] investors decided to pull back. Before, financial specialists may have concentrated exclusively on business development, yet now they take a look at both the income producing plan and profits," he clarified.
